Welcome to
The Aspiration Flagship Fund

5 minutes and $10

That's all you need to invest in the Aspiration Flagship Fund – our mutual fund designed to provide "one stop" access to a range of strategies once out of reach to everyday investors. Its goal is to grow your money steadily over the long-term while trying to reduce the amount of ups and downs of the stock market along the way.

Unlike some investment firms which only work for the very wealthy, Aspiration's mission is to open the doors to investing for all. The Aspiration Flagship Fund is open only to our clients, but it's open to every one of our clients – at a minimum investment of only $10.

Investing is like a car ride. You know where you want to go: more money to reach your goals for you and your family. The questions are: what will take you there and how you'll get there.

Often, investment professionals set out with a certain kind of financial asset in mind. They start out thinking about what kind of car they want to build.

At Aspiration, we start out thinking about the road: how we can get you to your destination with the fewest potholes and detours.

The wealthiest Americans can often invest in ways that are designed to provide investment returns less linked to the roller coaster of the stock market. However, we believe it is everyday investors who can least afford the big drops in the stock market.
The goal of reducing those ups and downs is why we created the Aspiration Flagship Fund

An "Alternative" Approach

To meet the goals of the Aspiration Flagship Fund, we set out to build a mutual fund available to all that uses strategies that seek to lessen your volatility. Put simply, this means the Fund works to smooth out the ups and downs of the market. The Fund is made of other mutual funds, each employing different strategies, that try to make money whether the stock market is heading uphill or down.

Search for the Best

We looked at a broad universe of over 9,300 mutual funds and exchange traded funds and then picked the ones that, in our opinion, are the best of the best. We especially focused on those that have been around long enough to show how they perform not only when the road is straight, but when it is winding.

The Right Mix

It is not enough to just select funds in which to invest. We believe it's just as important to get the right proportions and mix of these funds to try to reach the result we want.

Continually Monitor Performance

We continually monitor the Fund's performance on a daily basis and make adjustments as needed. We also conduct regular conversations — mostly in person — with the various managers of the funds we invest in to check whether they are staying true to their mission.

There are no guarantees in investing. And don't believe anyone who tells you differently. But here is what we work to do every day:
  • Minimum Investment
    Only $10

Liquid alternative funds (such as those in Our Fund) average a minimum investment of $6,000. *

  • Provide for
    Risk Adjusted Returns

The primary investment objective of the Fund is to grow your investment over the long-term while adjusting the returns for risk.

  • Reduce

The stock market can be a roller coaster of ups and downs; these gains and losses sometimes being referred to as "volatility." Our Fund seeks to deliver less volatility than traditional equity mutual funds.

  • Liquidity

You can sell your shares of the Fund on any business day on which the Fund is open. See our prospectus for details.

  • Transparency

Mutual funds such as the Aspiration Flagship Fund publicly release the components of their portfolio on a regular basis.

  • Limit

A fancy way of saying the Flagship Fund is designed to have performance less tied to the overall stock market.

  • Access Shares Classes
    Otherwise Out Of Reach

We shop for institutional share classes usually only available to investments by large institutions.

Transparency and trust are at the core of Aspiration. Instead of hiding or limiting how much information you have, we post the full list of what funds make up the Flagship Fund.

Do the rest of your investment funds do the same?

Aspiration and our portfolio managers earn what you decide is fair — and then we donate 10% of that to charitable giving.

When we say that you decide what to pay us, we mean it. There are no minimum or hidden fees to become part of Aspiration. You are free to change how much you pay us as often as you want and at any time – and we will never change that. It's your right to choose the level at which to pay us – and, no matter what you choose, you will have all the same rights as every other Aspiration customer.

It's up to us to demonstrate to you that we deserve to get paid for our work. If you don't think we do, you shouldn't pay us. The question is: why isn't the rest of the financial industry willing to say the same?

We refuse to charge you fees that are in many other mutual funds – fees you may not even know about because you don't see them. And because the Flagship Fund is only available directly to our clients on our platform, we don't have to pay gatekeepers or middle men - costs which otherwise would get passed on to you.

  • No front load fees
  • No back load fees
  • No per transaction fees
  • No performance fees
  • No redemption fees

About Fund Operating Expenses

There are some underlying fees in the fund. They do not go to us, but to third parties (although some may be passed through us to make these payments easier). Many mutual funds have some of these types of fees. They often put it in the fine print – we tell you up front.

Some are the fees charged by the funds that make up the Flagship Fund – we work to hold these down by obtaining institutional share classes they usually give to large institutions.

We also cap the annual operating expenses you pay to third parties at ½ of 1 percent of your assets – and make up expenses over that ourselves (except for traditional exceptions).

You invest for the long term. But you live in the present. Your investments should be there for you when you need the money.

Your investment portfolio is not just something that lives on a chart on your computer screen. It is the way you reach your goals for yourself and your family: college, home, retirement, rainy days. There are never any guarantees in investing. But the mission of the Aspiration Flagship Fund is to generate the returns you need to reach your goals while minimizing the drops along the way.
